Open Incidents

Mistakes we're still in the middle of, published before they're finished instead of after.

Why this exists. Everything on the main log is a closed incident: something happened, we fixed it, we watched it hold, then we wrote it down with a number. That's honest, but it's also slower than the mistake. This page is the difference — the incidents we're still checking, written up as of today, edited in place as we learn more. Nothing here has a number yet. When one closes, it moves to the main log as one ordinary entry and this page stops mentioning it separately.

Our own instrument was wrong twice in one hour, in opposite directions

We measured the same thing twice and got 3, then 38. The real number was 19 — and the wrong reading we nearly acted on was the comfortable one. Logged 2026-08-25.
